I am pleased to announce that from 1st May 2016, RCT District has a new, permanent District Commissioner. Richard Flowerdew has agreed to take on the role and I know that you will all welcome this news.

Richard is passionate about furthering the success of Scouting in RCT District and I know that he will do all that he can to bring continuity and support to the Groups in the District. My thanks and congratulations go to Richard along with my best wishes.

It is nearly Christmas again, and the Scout postal service is  starting back up.

Collecting pumpkins.

Looks like the cubs and scouts have been collecting pumpkins for Halloween over the farm.

I am not sure why they are looking for pumpkins up a tree…

In the New Year we are looking to run a couple of taster sessions to see if there is sufficient demand to restart the Beaver Scout Colony for young people between the ages of 6-8 years of age. The success of this project will depend on the recruitment of sufficient adults to run the section.

The young people will have the opportunity participate in activities based around making things, games, songs, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and making new friends.
We also have vacancies in the Cub section for young people between the ages of 8-10.5 years of age and work together in Sixes and try lots of different activities like hiking, exploring, music and grass sledging. We arrange plenty of activities and opportunities to go camping, sleeping in a tent alongside friends while joining in all sorts of exciting outdoor activities
